You love me, but how much do you love me? This is a question that many people ask. To me, this is a misguided question. The answer to this can differ for each person. A little less 'love' can be no 'love,' to some. A little more 'love' can be too much 'love,' to some. 'Love' is love. God does not need anyone to prove their love, for Him. God knows if you love Him, or not, as He searches our spirits.
Romans 8: 26-30
26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Being that there is no common idea for more, or less, 'love,' one can not show more, or less, 'love.' I feel that this is why we can not gain God's love by our 'works'/actions.
2 Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
So, there is nothing such as more/less love. The real question should be asked to yourself. Where does 'love' begin and end, to you? To God, 'love' has no beginning or end. Unlearn.
