Everything goes in cycles: song lyrics, movie plots, situations, thoughts, etc. If you are blessed to live long enough, you will be able to predict future outcomes of some situations. I say 'some' because situations differ from one view, of involvement, to another. Also, society's differences may have an affect. But, one thing remains constant. Whatever you say or however you feel about anyone older, just remember, if God is willing, you will be the older one, in the future. Despite many opinions, though situations may repeat, conditions still change.
There are many ways to get to one destination. So, because of one's experiences, a way that led to a particular destination for one person, may not lead there for another. And, some ways go to another destination. One destination is not 'universal.' The same destinations are not meant for everyone. God did not make two people exactly the same. So, why do we try to make one person like another person that had/has different experiences?
As you age, in years, you must learn to let possibilities go. Because this is true, the many ways that you have to get to one destination, begin to decrease. So, the wisdom gained from life's cycles, and age, are contributors to the phrase, 'Work smart, not hard.' But, this phrase does not apply if you have never worked hard. Unlearn.
